Bird head Taxidermy

I started out whittling the rough shapes of these bird heads, then I cut their eyes out of popsicle sticks. I know it sounds gruesome but it was really more like I gave them sight. Read it again if you still think that.

The penut in this picture is an ovesized replica of a penut the birds are actualy about 5 inches tall.
After painting the eyes I attached them with some elmers, drilled a hole, cut off the legs of an old fashioned close pin, and voila, a beak. After that I painted them at a listening party and craft get together that Destination DIY put on at a crafting event, and attached them to some plaques I got at Scrap.

They are hanging at Crafty Wonderlands new shop right next door to there old shop (who do they think they are, starbucks? Note: CW is not Starbucks, they just MOVED next door, and they don't even sell coffee.)

I Just put up a show at Extracto on ne Killingsworth and 30th.
Stop in and get some of thier house roast and enjoy some paintings. I've been doing some cut out pieces, like the one in the picture. I also have a bunch of new painting you might not have seen, unless you've been crawling around in my brain (I'm talking to you Google spiders).
Love,

My friend David Wien and I make very colorful art, so it’s a no brainer that we'd come together to make a semi-collaborative art show "Rainbros". "Rainbros" is a collection of colorful, sincere, and curious artwork.

It will be up until November 8th.

Been a while

Hello all. It's been way too long. I know this sounds silly but I've been too silly painting and doing shows to blog about the events taking place. I had a great show down at the Albina press. It was a fun show. Lots of work old and new. I had some work in a sculpture show at Po'boy studio. I made a guitar playing dummy in a monkey suit for that one. Pretty entertaining. I had a handful of pieces in a show in a huge show at the good foot called I am therefore I think. Beautiful and big. December promises to be huge as well. In the coming week I'll post the happenings for late November and December. Stay tuned!
